Photographer Mario Testino stays in Bondi Pacific penthouse
By day world famous photographer Mario Testino spend capturing shots of top model Lara Stone through his camera lens.
In the evening the delights of a Bondi Beach view were in his sight as one of the first residents of the beachside suburb’s most glamorous new residential buildings Bondi Pacific.
The Peruvian photographer, who has worked with a who’s who of top models and fashion titles was in Australia for his first visit to guest edit Vogue Australia.
Testino stayed as a guest for nearly two weeks in the twostorey penthouse apartment on Campbell Pde in January.
He had a bird’s eye view of the world famous beach with the massive 457 sqm apartment with a 165 sqm terrace overlooking the ocean and bustling beach.
Now there is the opportunity to experience the high fashion pad with the property on the market. Listed with Steven Chen of McGrath Projects the property is for sale through Expressions of Interest. A handful of similar level apartments in the building have attracted prices between $12 million and $14 million.
The interiors are also fit for a world class fashionista with the beach luxe interiors created by high profile Jonathon Richards of SJB Interiors and cutting edge furniture by Hub Furniture.
It was a perfect location for the photographer who was spotted capturing shots on the beach along with being spotted out and about in some of the suburb’s coolest restaurants including D’Orazio.
Testino was one of the first residents of the recently completed apartment building, which also houses the QT hotel, retail and restaurants on what was once the Swiss Grand Hotel site on Campbell Pde.
The work of the photographer, who also famously created some of the most iconic images of Princess Diana, will be seen in his guest edited April edition of Vogue Australia.
The apartment block has attracted a number of celebrity buyers including footballer Sam Burgess and his new wife Phoebe.
It has also attracted the biggest price for an apartment in Australia, with the purchase of two apartment that now make up one penthouse which sold in total for $21 million.
There are a handful of luxury apartments still available at the Bondi Pacific development.
